“Pantanal” tem se tornado, ao longo do tempo, um verdadeiro hino do ambientalismo brasileiro. Marcus Viana, o compositor da música, é um apoiador das grandes causas ecológicas e indígenas... foi por seu envolvimento com elas que acabou conhecendo Xamiri Suruá ("pássaro que canta"), uma cantora do povo Kaiowá. Ela, já conhecendo a música “Pantanal”, fez uma tradução da letra para o dialeto Guarani-Kaoiwa que emocionou muito o compositor, que imediatamente a convidou para gravar a obra. O novo arranjo foi feito utilizando teclados, uma viola de 10 cordas executada pelo violeiro Chico Lobo e uma coleção de flautas indígenas executadas por Marcus e seu filho João Viana. Esse vídeo mostra o momento exato da gravação realizada em Brasilia/DF, onde o engenheiro de som Assis Medeiros registrou a voz de Xamiri e traz além de suas imagens, o belo cenário do Pantanal. O resultado é tocante e trará com certeza um grande apoio à preservação da cultura Guarani-Kaiowá, que ao longo do tempo tem sofrido na preservação de sua própria existência como povo. “Pantanal” has become, over time, a true anthem of brazilian environmentalism. Marcus Viana, the composer of the song, is a supporter of great ecological and indigenous causes and it was through his involvement with them, that he ended up meeting Xamiri Suruá ("singing bird"), a singer of the Kaiowá people. She, already familiar with the song “Pantanal”, made a translation of the lyrics into the Guarani-Kaoiwa dialect that moved the composer so greatly that he immediately invited her to record the work. The new arrangement was made using keyboards, a 10-string viola (a brazilian guitar) played by the guitarist Chico Lobo and indigenous flutes played by Marcus and his son João Viana. This video shows the exact moment of the recording, which took place in Brasília/DF, where the sound engineer Assis Medeiros recorded Xamiri´s voice and shows her and beautiful scenery of the Pantanal. The result is touching and will certainly bring great support to the preservation of the Guarani-Kaiowá culture, which over time has suffered in the preservation of its own existence as a people.
